The No.1 Blog for Expat Women on the Globe
This isn’t just a blog — it’s a space where expat women finally feel seen, heard, and understood.
Every post is a quiet revolution against shame, invisibility, and the pressure to “have it all together” abroad. From stories of language anxiety and identity loss to powerful reflections on courage, belonging, and soft resilience — these words are resonating deeply around the world.

Hi, I'm Aleksandra.
I’m a mom of a curious, energetic 5-year-old boy, a trailing partner, and I’ve been a certified English language teacher for nearly 20 years. Over the past 8 years, we’ve packed up our lives and started over 4 times, living in 3 different countries and learning 3 new languages.
The uncertainty, the challenge of helping my son adjust to each new place, the pressure to "get it right"—I’ve been through it all.
It hasn’t been easy. But with every move, I learned something important:
Home isn’t just a place on a map. It’s a feeling inside you.
That’s why I became a certified NLP practitioner - in other words: I give expats proven techniques + a “toolbox” to help you break free from self-doubt so you can build confidence, find new ways to respond to and recover faster from challenges.
Whether you're feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unsure how to carve out your own identity as a first-time expat, I’m here to guide you back to a sense of home, stability, and confidence.
Because expat life doesn’t have to be a hot mess of “forever” surviving the culture shock and the constant feeling of being “out of place.”
It might feel impossible now, but what if I told you that you could turn that oh-no-what-did-I-do feeling into something that actually excites you?
I know it’s possible, because I’ve lived it.
And so have dozens of women around the world who’ve joined The Social Expat — the only coaching programs that combine English language + identity + emotional resilience shifting to help you feel darn good, confident and grounded, not like a ghost in your (expat) life.
